Martynas Mažvydas Pedestrian Alley in Klaipėda
The Martynas Mažvydas Alley (Lithuanian: Martyno Mažvydo alėja) is one of the most prominent pedestrian streets in Klaipėda, Lithuania. Established in 1968, it was named in honor of Martynas Mažvydas, the pioneer of the first printed Lithuanian book, a priest, and an educator.
Following a major reconstruction in 2008, the avenue transformed into a vibrant cultural and recreational space. Its defining feature is a series of granite benches adorned with unique and playful bronze small-scale sculptures. Connecting the central part of the city directly to the lush Klaipėda Sculpture Park, the alley serves as a scenic promenade for both locals and travelers, lined with charming cafes and artistic details.
