Located in the heart of Klaipėda's Old Town along the pedestrian Martyno Mažvydo Avenue, stands one of the city's most charming small bronze sculptures – "The Resident of Klaipėda" („Klaipėdietis“). Created by sculptor Svajūnas Jurkus and architect Vytautas Paulionis to commemorate the city's 750th anniversary, this small, 45-centimeter-tall artwork depicts a confident, walking boy leaning proudly against a shield bearing the Klaipėda city coat of arms — the oldest heraldic symbol in Lithuania. Unlike other interactive sculptures in the city, this one holds no magical wish-granting powers; its sole purpose is to bring a smile to passersby.
