Traditional log residential house with a thatched roof at the Daugava Museum
The open-air territory of the Daugava Museum features a close-up view of a historical residential house, providing a clear insight into its architectural details. This log building is made of horizontal, grayish-brown wooden logs with solid corner joints. The roof of the house is covered with a thick, naturally aged, and partially moss-covered thatched roofing, from the top of which rises a small, light brick chimney.
Several rectangular windows with wooden frames and open wooden shutters are visible on the longitudinal wall of the building. In the foreground of the house, on the right side, there is a small, enclosed garden bed with green, densely grown bushes. The foundation of the building rests on a narrow strip of stones and gravel that extends along the entire perimeter of the structure.
The background and side view are filled with mighty, old deciduous trees whose branches are covered with fresh, light green spring leaves. On the right side, in the background, another historical wooden structure can be seen in the middle of the lawn, partially surrounded by a forest strip. The natural lighting evenly illuminates the wooden texture of the building and the surrounding greenery.
