The Great Synagogue of Kuldīga (currently the Kuldīga Main Library)
The Great Synagogue of Kuldīga (currently the Kuldīga Main Library) is an outstanding monument of eclecticism and Neo-Romanesque architecture from the second half of the 19th century. Built in 1875, the building features a monumental volume, a symmetrical facade composition, and semi-circular window openings with expressive moldings. The central part of the facade is highlighted by a large decorative arch with a circular rose window and a distinctive Neo-Romanesque arcatura frieze along the roofline, topped with decorative turrets. The light yellow finish and rusticated plastering emphasize the building's plasticity and historical substance, which has been successfully integrated into the modern urban cultural space.
