Old Liepāja, Zivju street
Zivju (Fish) Street is one of the most charming and historic pedestrian streets in the heart of Liepāja's old town.
• Historic Spirit: The street owes its name to the former open-air fish market that operated here until the early 20th century. Today, its legacy lives on through the authentic cobblestone pavement and beautifully restored 19th and 20th-century buildings adorned with vintage details and balconies.
• Contemporary Culture: Nowadays, Zivju Street is a popular pedestrian promenade where historic architecture blends seamlessly with modern design. It is home to cozy cafes, local boutiques, and art spaces.
• Musical Heritage: Right at the entrance of the street, visitors can explore the Latvian Musicians' Alley of Fame, featuring bronze handprints of legendary local musicians and composers, celebrating Liepāja’s title as the capital of Latvian rock music.
