Thick ice ridges and shards on a frozen seashore
Voluminous ice piles consisting of thick, irregularly shaped ice shards are visible on the coast of the Gulf of Riga. The ice has a distinctly whitish and cool greenish tone, indicating its density and the freezing process. Many sheets are positioned at angles or vertically, creating a chaotic and sharp relief.
The sky above the ice fields is overcast and misty, creating a muted and cool atmosphere. A brighter band is visible at the horizon, slightly illuminating the tops of the ice, giving them a faint glow. In the distance, along the left edge, a dark shoreline with a forest silhouette is barely discernible.
The ice slabs in the foreground are partially covered with snow, which fills the gaps between the shards. The overall landscape is harsh and impressive, characterizing a northern winter when the sea transforms into a continuous desert of ice and snow. This view reflects the untamed energy of nature and the forms created by frost.
