The historic Swedish Gate in Priekule on a sunny day
The image shows the historic Swedish Gate building in Priekule, which stands out with its characteristic and unique architecture. In the center of the white-plastered facade is a large, semicircular arched gateway decorated with ornamental stone masonry and a face-shaped mascaron at the top of the arch. Above the gateway, on both sides of the central window, two symmetrical, round watchtowers or bay windows are built on massive columns, topped with small red roofs. The upper part of the building is covered with a red tile roof featuring two brick chimneys, and three rectangular paned windows are visible on the facade.
To the left of the gateway, next to a small arched niche, stands a historic sculpture of a knight depicted holding a raised sword. Further to the left is a section of an adjacent building with concrete stairs and metal railings, decorated with a hanging pot of blooming purple flowers. On the right side of the gate, there is another arched niche with a decorative grill in its window, along with a small sign on the corner of the building.
The area in front of the building is paved with flat cobblestones, and through the open wooden doors in the gateway, green trees are visible in the courtyard beyond. In the background on the right, a stretch of road with pedestrian barriers, traffic signs, and a lamppost can be seen, backed by lush green trees. The entire scene is framed by a clear and light blue, cloudless sky, indicating a bright, sunny day.
