A granite obelisk standing on a stepped granite pedestal in a town square/park. The upper section bears a bronze relief of the Vytis (the mounted, sword-wielding knight from the Lithuanian coat of arms). Below it is mounted a bronze plaque reading: "LIETUVOS NEPRIKLAUSOMYBĖS DEŠIMTMEČIUI PAMINĖTI 1918–1928" ("In commemoration of the decade of Lithuanian independence, 1918–1928"). Further down is a second bronze relief depicting a knight's shield bearing a cross, together with a sword — symbols associated with medieval Lithuanian statehood.
