Kuldīga Old Town
The historic center of Kuldīga, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, stands as an exceptionally well-preserved traditional urban settlement that beautifully merges Latvian and German architectural styles from the 16th to 18th centuries. Prominently featured in the image is the historic Duke's Court Pharmacy (dating back to the 17th century) on Baznīcas Street. It remains one of Latvia's rare and outstanding examples of timber-framed (fachwerk) architecture, complete with its original clay-tiled mansard roof and central mantle chimney. Kuldīga’s unchanged medieval street layout, the picturesque Alekšupīte stream, and meticulously restored historic buildings offer a unique living history experience that captivates travelers and heritage enthusiasts globally.
