Icy rocks and rounded ice formations on Užava beach
On the sun-drenched shore of Užava, unusual natural formations take center stage—coastal rocks encased in a thick layer of ice. Rounded, dome-shaped ice mounds have formed around each rock from frozen sea foam and water spray. These white, porous structures are positioned right at the shoreline, where gentle waves continue to wash against their bases.
The icy rocks in the center of the image resemble large, frozen mushrooms or snowdrifts raised above the water level. Their texture is rugged and uneven, indicating the gradual buildup of layers under shifting weather conditions and wave action. The water between the rocks is clear, reflecting the pale blue sky.
A layer of frozen snow is visible along the coastal strip, blending with the sand beneath the shallow water. The surroundings are quiet and undisturbed, allowing the natural shapes and the cold season's color palette to dominate. This landscape vividly characterizes the ever-changing nature of the Baltic Sea's rocky coastal sections during winter.
