Pavilosta Great Stone in a thick layer of ice on a winter day
The Great Rock on Pavilosta beach has turned into an impressive ice sculpture in winter. The rock is completely covered with white, rugged ice, with small icicles visible at its base. Sunlight illuminates the top of the ice, creating bright reflections and highlighting its massive volume.
In the calm seawater next to the rock, a small duck is visible swimming in the clear water. In the foreground along the shore, smaller icy rocks are arranged, forming a sequence of white domes. The horizon line in the distance is clear, and the sky is covered with light, pale clouds.
The water around the rock is transparent, allowing the seabed sand to be seen near the shore. This landscape reflects the meeting of winter's harsh beauty and wildlife on the Pavilosta coast. The ice covering on the rock indicates a prolonged freezing process and the influence of waves.
