The image shows the environmental object "Pretī gaismai" (Towards the Light) in Ēdole, mounted on a grey granite pedestal. The sculpture depicts a stack of bronze-colored books topped with an open book. The left page of the open book features a portrait of a man, while the right page is inscribed with the Latvian quote: "Zināšanas ir vērtība, ko cilvēkam neviens nevar atņemt."
