Summer

Summer is one of the four seasons, following spring and lasting until autumn. It is characterized by the longest daylight hours of the year, the highest air temperatures, and the most abundant plant growth. In the Northern Hemisphere, summer typically runs from June to August.

During this time, nature is at its greenest — deciduous trees and shrubs are in full leaf, meadows are filled with blooming wildflowers, and fields and gardens reach their fullest growth. Summer is also when many insects and birds are most active, as the warm weather and abundant food supply create favorable conditions for their life cycles.

For many people, summer is associated with rest, travel, and spending time outdoors. The long days and warm climate invite walks, time by the water, or excursions into the countryside, where nature's rhythm can be observed at its most abundant.
