Sculptures in Langervalde Forest

In 2017, eight wooden objects made of wood and metal - various animals made by students of Crafts Secondary School of Jelgava and Riga Art and Media School – elk, deer and others were placed in Langervalde forest. 

In 2019, at the event organized by the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies Forest Faculty, "Forest Comes to Jelgava 2019", a wooden sculpture – symbol of Jelgava city – an elk, created by educators and students of Jelgava Technical School was created in front of the visitors. The sculpture is made of pine planks. An environmental object more than three and a half meters high found a permanent home in Langervalde Forest.

The sculpture was composed by J.Stankevičs – a vocational education teacher at Jelgava Technical School, Andrejs Kopilovs – a lecturer at Jelgava Technical School, and first-year students Adrians Bulkovskis, Iļja Kuļiks, Mārtiņš Krišs Melnis, Jānis Lazdiņš, Reinis Matīss Sniedzītis and Jānis Švēde.
