Sailing Ship "Libava"

he sailing ship "Libava" is a historical replica of a 17th-century Dutch shallow-draft pleasure yacht (Herren-yacht). Built in 2008 in Petrozavodsk based on the Askold-48 design blueprints, the vessel was constructed using traditional wooden shipbuilding methods and materials. Its visual appearance is defined by intricate wood carvings and a historically authentic green, black, and gold color scheme.

While the ship closely replicates the maritime aesthetics of the Duke Jacob era, it is equipped with a modern 120 hp diesel engine, contemporary navigation electronics, and safety equipment for secure sailing. The ship measures 18.6 meters in length. Although its historic home port is Liepāja, the vessel actively participates in maritime festivals across the Baltic Sea and offers tourist and leisure cruises in Jūrmala and Riga.
