Randu Meadows

The Randu Meadows is a nature reserve covering the area of Vidzeme seaside from Ainazi till Kuivizi. The 200 ha area is home to approximately 600 Latvian plant species including 37 species that are rare and endangered in Latvia and other European countries.

This territory is also an internationally acclaimed bird migration and nesting ground. The nature trail leads to bird watching tower which was opened in 2006 and nearest sandhill. The absolute Latvian record of observed bird species was set the same year – 114 species.

From the tower you will see seacoast meadows with lagoons and reeds.
