Rainis Boulevard 13, Riga

The German Embassy is located at Rainis Boulevard 13 in Riga, built in 1867 by German architect Heinrich Karl Scheel as a private house in the eclectic style.

In 1885, imitating various styles from Rococo to Classicism, the simple interior was replaced by decorative elements and high-quality parquet floors.

The building was purchased by the German diplomatic mission in 1920. In 1991, after prolonged use by the Soviet Army, the Federal Republic of Germany regained ownership of the building.

In 1997 it was put into operation again after several years of reconstruction.

Today this building is one of the finest examples of the 19th century architecture, which describes the image of Riga.
