Press House

The Press House is a 22-storey office building in Balasta dambis 2, Kipsala, Riga. It was completed in 1978. The architect of the building is Jānis Vilciņš.

The building was built specifically for the press and was designed as a spacious complex consisting of a 22-storey publishing house, a newspaper and magazine editorial body and a two-story printing house annex with a capacity of 1.5 billion printing units per year. In the center of the high-rise building is a spacious lobby with access to a courtyard with an entrance to the conference room with 400 seats and a café. Exterior finish of the complex is made of prefabricated concrete panels. The interior is dominated by natural stone, while the conference room has wood trim.

In June 2017, Ltd. PN Project, which is managed by the Lithuanian real estate and private equity firm Lords LB Asset Management purchased the building from JSC Latvia Shipping subsidiary Ltd. LASCO Investment. A hotel with 280 rooms is planned to open in 2022.
