Monument to United Lithuania "Arka" (The Arch)

The monument stands in Klaipėda, at the intersection of Tiltų and H. Manto streets, near the Biržos Bridge, on the bank of the Danė River. It was erected in 2003 to mark the 85th anniversary of the Act of Tilsit and the 80th anniversary of the Klaipėda Region's union with Lithuania. The idea came from Valentinas Greičiūnas, a member of the Seimas from Klaipėda, and the monument was created by sculptor A. Sakalauskas.

The monument weighs 150 tonnes and stands 8.5 metres tall. It consists of two granite columns: the smaller one, made of red granite, symbolises Lithuania Minor and its cultural heritage, while the larger, grey one represents Lithuania Major. The upper part of the monument, which appears broken off, represents the Kaliningrad region, today part of Russia. The granite bears words by writer Ieva Simonaitytė: "We are one nation, one land, one Lithuania."

The unveiling ceremony was attended by then Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas.
