Mūšas Tyrelis Nature Trail

The Mūšas Tyrelis Nature Trail is located in the Mūšas Tyrelis Wetland Reserve, within Žagarė Regional Park in northern Lithuania, in Joniškis District. The trail crosses an extensive wetland landscape featuring raised bogs, fens, wet forests and small lakes. The area provides important habitats for rare and protected plant and animal species and forms part of the European Union’s Natura 2000 network of protected areas.

The boardwalk route offers views of Miknaičiai Lake, Tyrelis Stone with its ancient markings, a memorial site marking a former Lithuanian partisan camp, and a lookout tower overlooking the bog. Information boards introduce visitors to the formation of the bog and its plant and animal life. Walking along the trail provides an opportunity to experience the quiet atmosphere and natural diversity of the wetland while helping to protect its sensitive ecosystem. Visitors should remain on the designated trail and follow nature conservation rules.
