Mīlestības koki (Love trees) in Pasta sala (Post Island)

On 9 January 2018, the city of Jelgava received a special gift from the metal artist Aldis Sproģis, two new metal Love trees in which traditionally newlyweds will be able to attach keys on the wedding day, symbolically connecting the lives of two people together.

The whole Aldis’ family participated in the production of Love trees, for the first time her wife Sandra, her daughter Santa and her daughter's friend Dzintars.

Jelgava City Council President Andris Ravins, on behalf of all inhabitants of Jelgava, thanked the metal artist Aldis Sproģis for actively participating in the development of the urban environment, making Jelgava more beautiful.

The first three Love trees have been installed on the Pasta Isle in August 2014. They were a gift to the City of Palace pharmacy. The highest of the trees is 2.20 meters high, the rest – 1.80 and 1.70 meters high.
