Lime tree alley of Brivibas boulevard

The central lime-tree alley of Riga on Brivibas (Freedom) Boulevard is made of common lime (Tilia x vulgaris, syn. Tilia x europaea). Lindens grow in 4 rows and should be maintained regularly by trimming and forming as high hedge. Damaged lime trees are removed and new ones are planted in their place to preserve the overall ensemble. Through the alley from the intersection of Brīvības and Elizabetes streets you can see the Freedom Monument.
