Lakes in Stiklu swamps

From lake complex of Stikli Swamps, there are seven lakes in the territory of Puze parish, and these are: Maziere (Pirtsezers, Lake Mazais), Dziļene (Mežezers, Dziļņezers), Zutene (Ozoliņezers), Seklene, Lake Līdaku, Dižiere (Pilsezers, Lake Big, Lake Glass), Velnezers.

The biggest one of these eight lakes is Dižiere (18ha), but the deepest is Lake Seklene (8m). Velnezers and Lake Seklene creates water body consisting of two parts with a narrow land strip between them. Some time ago, it was possible to walk between these lakes, but now because of beavers, the water level has risen and both lakes have combined.

Lakes are available for people. Surrounding landscape is beautiful and primeval; it has been little influenced by people. There is a swimming area in the biggest lake Dižezers.
