Lake Aklais between Sloka Lake and Melnezers
The local Kemerians call the small lake by the trail that leads from Lake Sloka to Lake Melnezers the Lake Aklais. This name is not recorded on the map. The lake with the official name Aklais is located in the Old Swamp to the southeast of Sloka Lake, but the locals call it Belte Lake.
This Lake Aklais is located in the nature reserve area of Ķemeri National Park, approx. 0.4 km northwest of Sloka Lake, near river Vecslocene. The area of its mirror area is 1.8 ha, the average depth is 1.4 m. The banks are slippery, especially towards Vecslocene. The bottom is muddy. Reeds, jointed Rushes, holly-leaved Naiadas grow. A small ditch connects it with Vērsupīte and also with Melnezers.
