Kretinga Suspension Bridge

The Kretinga suspension bridge, popularly known as a "monkey bridge" (Lithuanian: beždžionių tiltas), crosses the Akmena River in the town of Kretinga. It lies 340 m east of Klaipėda Street (road 168 Klaipėda–Kretinga). The bridge links Malūno Street in the Bajorai neighbourhood with Mėguvos Street, which leads to the town centre. It stands within the Bajorai Pond impoundment area.

It is the only suspension bridge in Kretinga town, and Lithuanian Wikipedia also describes it as the longest-serving one. In 2017, when the bridge was in a critical condition, it was renovated. The rusted metal beams and columns were cleaned and repainted. The wooden parts of the walkway were made anew, impregnated and coated with protective paint.
