(Rhododendron japonicum) Japanese azalea

Japanese azalea is in flower from April to May. Flowers are normally orange, but can be yellow or redddish. Leaves turn orange in autumn.

Growing to 2 m. Suitable for light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and prefers well-drained moist acid soil, can grow in very acid soil. Prefer semi-shade (light woodland) or no shade.
