(Helleborus purpurascens) Purple Hellebore or Christmas rose

Purple Hellebore or Christmas rose (Helleborus purpurascens) is growing wild in Eastern Europe, from Southeastern Poland to Ukraine. It is 30-40 cm high, the leaves are divided into 5 parts, each single leaf divided into 6 parts. Foliage green, slightly shiny, underside – blue-green. The flowers are greyish-purple, the greener inside, blooming in March and April. Used in rock gardens, groups, edges, floristry.
