Īvande Waterfall (Īvandes rumba)

Īvandes rumba is a natural waterfall located in Renda Parish, Kuldīga Municipality, Latvia, within the Abava River Valley Nature Park. It is situated on the Īvande River, a right-bank tributary of the Abava River.

  • Dimensions: It stands approximately 2 meters high and spans about 10 meters in width (the water volume and width fluctuate based on season and precipitation).

  • Cascade System: It is the lower and largest waterfall in a series on the Īvande River. Roughly 200 meters upstream lies the upper waterfall, Valdātu rumba (approx. 1.5 m high and 5 m wide), with a smaller third cascade step situated between them.

  • Geology: The riverbed and surrounding gorge are defined by Devonian dolomite and sandstone rock outcrops.

  • Accessibility: The waterfall is accessible via a walking trail and wooden footbridges. It is open to visitors free of charge year-round.
